STAR CITY — Star City Council voted unanimously to table proposed changes to Stafford Street after opinions opposing the initial decision were voiced from residents Dec. 5.

Council voted last month to make Stafford Street one-way to combat heavy traffic coming from Morgantown, but walked back the decision after questions of its effectiveness by residents.

“I got about a dozen calls about this since,” Mayor Herman Reid said during the meeting.

Council members remained concerned about the safety of residents during rush hour and are looking for another option.

“This might not be the right way, but we need to do something,” Councilor Dominick Claudio said.
