KINGWOOD — Preston commissioners heard requests Feb. 20 for funding and learned of some incoming funds this week.

The Preston County Parks and Recreation Commission (PCPaRC) and Tucker Community Foundation each asked commissioners to consider funding in the new fiscal year, which begins July 1. Both requests were taken under consideration.

County Administrator Kathy Mace reported the county received a $5,000 state grant to pay for spaying and neutering of pets, which is being matched 100 percent by an anonymous donor. And Preston Emergency Management/911 Director Duane Hamilton said his office received a $30,533.70 grant from the state.
