MORGANTOWN — A man faces a felony charge for intentionally setting his trailer on fire, according to an arrest report.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department charged Joe A. Hornsby, 29, of Morgantown, with first-degree arson. He faces two to 20 years in prison if convicted.

According to his criminal complaint: At about 4:30 a.m. Jan. 10, deputies went to a St. Claire’s Village trailer for a reported fire. Witnesses said Hornsby set a fire in the bathroom. When his husband came in with a fire extinguisher, the entire back wall was in flames. Police also found a cigarette lodged in a vent that was seven feet off the ground.

Hornsby fled but was apprehended.
