MORGANTOWN — Christopher Murray will go on home confinement for abusing a 7-year-old.

On May 17, Monongalia County Circuit Court Judge Susan Tucker sentenced Murray to one to five years in prison for child abuse by a parent, guardian or person of trust. But, she suspended it for at least one year home confinement.

As part of his confinement, Murray must continue to receive therapy, complete 150 hours of community service and register as a sex offender. After one year, he will return to court to check the status of his home confinement.

Murray previously pleaded guilty to the abuse count.

According to the criminal complaint: The 7-year-old girl told her mother that Murray abused her. She also told medical personal the same information.

The victim said that Murray used his fingers inappropriately, and he also exposed himself and touched her with his genitals.
