DAYBROOK — The 81st Clay District Fair kicks off July 18 in Daybrook.

This year’s theme is “Cowboy Boots and Country Roots.” Festivities begin with the parade at 6:30 p.m. July 18, followed by the official opening ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

Each day’s schedule features live entertainment and prize drawings.

To get to the fair, take W.Va. 7 west to Blacksville and then take W.Va. 218 south about three miles to Daybrook. The fair is by the old Daybrook Elementary School.

Admission is $4 for adults and children 13 years old and up. Admission is free for kids 12 years and under.

Advance wristbands will be sold for $8 each night. For every advance band purchased, the buyer will be entered for a chance to win a bicycle. One boy’s and one girl’s bike are available, donated by Darrah Contracting and Thomas Family Amusements.
